Helping Shape the Next Generation of Financial Literacy
It Started with My Own Keiki
As a mom of four, I want my children to grow up feeling confident with money—not afraid of it.
Like many people, financial literacy wasn't something I learned growing up. There wasn't a class that taught me how to budget, save, build a business, understand taxes, or make smart financial decisions. Most of what I know today came through experience, mistakes, and years of learning along the way.
That journey inspired me to create something different.
I deeply value education, and I believe it is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children. Even if my children choose paths different from what I may envision for them, my priority is to give them a strong foundation—one built on fundamentals that help them become resourceful, confident young adults. I want them to have the tools I once had to learn the hard way, so they can hopefully avoid some of the struggles I experienced.
We all want what’s best for our children, and I truly believe financial literacy is essential for every keiki to learn and understand.
Living and raising my family in Hawaiʻi has also shaped how I approach this work. I see every day the importance of grounding learning in real-life experiences, community values, and cultural connection. That’s why I am intentionally incorporating local perspectives, personal experiences, and challenges I’ve seen firsthand here in our islands. I am also weaving in ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi throughout the learning materials to help our keiki connect more deeply to place, language, and identity while they learn.
I believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn about money in a way that's fun, practical, and relatable. When we give our keiki the right tools early, we're helping build confidence, independence, and a foundation they can carry throughout their lives.
Keiki Learning Partners was created to bring parents, teachers, and our community together to help shape these resources before they're officially released.
Your feedback helps ensure every story, activity, workbook, and game truly connects with the children who will use them.
Together, we're building more than educational products—we're creating a pathway that empowers Hawaiʻi's next generation to make confident financial decisions and build a brighter future.
Because when we teach our keiki today, we invest in tomorrow.
Every great educational resource starts with families who care enough to help build it.
Mahalo for helping us create meaningful financial literacy resources for Hawaiʻi's next generation.
